Senior Adults

The Senior Adult Ministries of Saint James includes, but is not limited to, those 55 and above. There are many service ministries and fellowship opportunities available for everyone. You may enjoy serving as a greeter, being a part of the worship preparation committee, hospitality team, hospital visitation group, or singing in the traditional choir. The aim of the Senior Ministry of Saint James is to help you find your place for worship and service. We believe that in doing that, you will find joy in your walk with Christ. You are wanted and needed at Saint James and we look forward to serving and worshipping with you! For more information, contact mike@sjlife.com and he will be glad to assist you. Caring for Widows.jpg

young at heart

This is a monthly meeting of senior adults. The meetings consist of lunch, a program, sharing of information about upcoming events and concerns, and one day outings to nearby sites of interest available for our senior adults. The meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month and begin at 11:30 am. We hope you will join us for this fun time of fellowship!

Caring For Widows

The Caring For Widows Ministry is one of the new ministries at Saint James. This ministry offers support and encouragement to widows with one on one care and fellowship. It is easy to become isolated during the grieving process and Caring For Widows is an opportunity for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one to help others with their care and wisdom. This is part of a community wide effort to help widows know they are loved and cared for as we are instructed to do in James 1:27 and 1 Timothy 5:3.

Travel and trips

The Senior Adults travel, several times a year, to nearby locations to enjoy the opportunity to see and enjoy local sites. Recent travels have been to Hyundai Motorcar Plant in Montgomery, to Eclectic Christmas Trail which featured reenactments of scenes from time of Jesus’ birth, and a visit to LaGrange, Georgia for a day at the Biblical Study Center to experience life around Jerusalem during the life of Jesus. The one day trips are enjoyed by all.
